Lao Lesson 97: Every Day Lao

 (The Words: ເກງໃຈ, ບໍ່ໄດ້ຕັ້ງໃຈ and ບໍ່ຮູ້ດອກ)

1-  ຢ່າ ເກງໃຈ ກິນເຂົ້າໄດ້ເລີຍ.

Don't be afraid. You can eat now.

2-  ນາງເປັນ ຄົນ ເກງໃຈ ຄົນອື່ນຫຼາຍ.

She is very considerate of other people.

3-  ຂ້ອຍ ເກງໃຈ ທີ່ຈະຂໍຄວາມຊ່ວຍເຫຼືອ.

I feel reluctant to ask for help.

4-  ຂອບໃຈເດີ ແຕ່ຂ້ອຍ ເກງໃຈ.

Thank you, but I feel bad imposing on you.

5-   ຂ້ອຍ ບໍ່ໄດ້ຕັ້ງໃຈ ເຮັດໃຫ້ເຈົ້າເສຍໃຈ.
 I didn't mean to upset you.

6-  ລາວ ບໍ່ໄດ້ຕັ້ງໃຈ ລືມນັດ.
 He didn't mean to forget the appointment.

7-  ເດັກນ້ອຍ ບໍ່ໄດ້ຕັ້ງໃຈ ທຳແກ້ວແຕກ.
 The child didn’t mean to break the glass.

8-  ລາວ ບໍ່ໄດ້ຕັ້ງໃຈ ເວົ້າແບບນັ້ນ.
 She didn’t mean to speak like that.

9-  ຂ້ອຍ ບໍ່ໄດ້ຕັ້ງໃຈ ມາຊ້າ.
 I didn’t mean to arrive late.

10-                 ຂ້ອຍເຮັດຜິດໄປ ແຕ່ ບໍ່ໄດ້ຕັ້ງໃຈ ເລີຍ.
          I made a mistake, but it wasn’t intentional.

11-                 ລາວໄປໃສ ບໍ່ຮູ້ດອກ.

          I don't know where she went.

12-                 ບໍ່ຮູ້ດອກ ວ່າຝົນຈະຕົກບໍ.

          I don't know if it will rain.

13-                 ເຂົາຈະມາມື້ໃດ ບໍ່ຮູ້ດອກ.

          I don't know when they will come.

14-                 ບໍ່ຮູ້ດອກ ອາດຈະແມ່ນຄວາມຈິງ.

          I don't know, maybe it's true.

15-                 A: ເງິນເດືອນຈະອອກເມື່ອໃດ?

When will the salary be paid?

B: ບໍ່ຮູ້ດອກ ຖາມເຈົ້ານາຍເບິ່ງ.  (No idea, ask the boss.)

16-                 A: ຂໍໂທດ, ຮ້ານອາຫານຢູ່ໃສ?

Excuse me, where is the restaurant?

B: ຂ້ອຍ ບໍ່ຮູ້ ຄືກັນ, ຂ້ອຍບໍ່ແມ່ນຄົນແຖວນີ້.

I don't know either; I am not from around here.

                    A: ບໍ່ເປັນຫຍັງ, ຂອບໃຈເດີ້. (No problem, thank you.)

Lao Lesson 96: Every Day Lao

(The Word: ໃຈ)

1.   ດີໃຈນໍາເດີ້!                                           

: I’m happy for you!

2.   ລາວດີໃຈທີ່ໄດ້ພົບເຈົ້າ.                   

: She is happy to meet you.

3.   ໝາໂຕນີ້ໃຈດີ ມັນບໍ່ກັດ.                          

: This dog is friendly; it doesn't bite.

4.   ເອື້ອຍຂອງຂ້ອຍໃຈດີຫຼາຍ.                        

: My older sister is very kind-hearted.

5.   ລົມກັບລາວແລ້ວ ຮູ້ສຶກສະບາຍໃຈຫຼາຍ.      

: I felt very relieved after talking to her.

6.   ເສຍໃຈນໍາເດີ້ !                                       

: I’m sorry for your loss.

7.   ບໍ່ຕ້ອງເສຍໃຈ.                                       

: Don't be sad / Don't feel bad about it.

8.   ລາວເສຍໃຈທີ່ເຈົ້າບໍ່ມາ.                            

: She is sad that you didn't come.

9.   ຂ້ອຍເຕັມໃຈໄປເຮັດວຽກຢູ່ຕ່າງປະເທດ.      

: I am willing to work abroad.

10.                  ຖ້າເຈົ້າບໍ່ເຕັມໃຈ ກໍບໍ່ເປັນຫຍັງ.        

: If you're not willing, that's okay.

11.                  ຂ້ອຍຈິງໃຈກັບເຈົ້າແທ້ໆ.                

: I am truly sincere with you.

12.                  ຂອບໃຈຫຼາຍໆທີ່ມີນໍ້າໃຈຊ່ວຍເຫຼືອ.  

: Thank you very much for your kindness in helping.

13.                  ຄົນລາວມີນໍ້າໃຈຊ່ວຍກັນ.               

: Lao people have the heart to help each other.

14.                  ຄູຂອງຂ້ອຍໃຈອ່ອນ ເລີຍໃຫ້ໂອກາດນັກຮຽນອີກຄັ້ງ. 

: My teacher is kind-hearted enough to give the students another chance.

 

15.                  ສຸດທ້າຍລາວກໍໃຈອ່ອນຍອມໃຫ້ຂ້ອຍໄປ.

: Finally, she softened up and let me go.

16.                  ເປັນຫຍັງເຈົ້າຄືໃຈແຂງແທ້?           

: Why are you so stubborn?

17.                  ລາວໃຈແຂງ ບໍ່ຍອມຮັບຄໍາຂໍໂທດ.

: He is stubborn and does not accept apologies.

18.                  ຢ່າໃຈຮ້ອນຫຼາຍ ຖ້າບຶດໜຶ່ງກໍໄດ້. 

: Don't be so impatient; just wait a moment.

19.                  ລາວເປັນຄົນໃຈຮ້ອນ ຢາກໄດ້ຫຍັງຕ້ອງໄດ້ເລີຍ.

: She is an impatient person; whatever she wants, she must have it immediately.

20.                 ຂ້ອຍຂໍໂທດທີ່ໃຈຮ້ອນໃສ່ເຈົ້າ.         

: I’m sorry for losing my temper with you.

21.                  ໃຈເຢັນໆເດີ້, ທຸກຢ່າງຈະດີຂຶ້ນ.        

: Calm down, everything will get better.

22.                 ໃຈເຢັນໆ, ບໍ່ຕ້ອງຟ້າວ.                  

: Take it easy, no need to rush.

23.                 ພວກເຮົາຕ້ອງໃຈເຢັນເພື່ອແກ້ໄຂບັນຫາ. 

: We need to be calm to solve problems.

Lao Lesson 95: Every Day Lao

(ຄຳອວຍພອນປີໄໝ່ລາວ = Lao New Year Wishes)

1.   ສຸກສັນວັນປີໃໝ່ລາວ! ຂໍໃຫ້ມ່ວນຊື່ນ ແລະ ປອດໄພທຸກເສັ້ນທາງ.

Happy Lao New Year! Have fun and stay safe on the roads.

2.   ສະບາຍດີປີໃໝ່ລາວ! ຂໍໃຫ້ປີນີ້ເປັນປີທີ່ດີ, ຄິດສິ່ງໃດກໍໃຫ້ໄດ້ສິ່ງນັ້ນ, ເງິນໄຫຼນອງ ທອງໄຫຼມາ, ມີແຕ່ຮອຍຍິ້ມຕະຫຼອດປີເດີ້!

Happy Lao New Year! May this year be a good one. Whatever you wish for, may it come true. May money and gold flow in, and there be only smiles all year long!

3.   ເນື່ອງໃນໂອກາດບຸນປີໄໝ່ລາວ 2026 ນີ້, ຂໍໃຫ້ເພື່ອນຮັກຂ້ອຍ, ການງານ ຈະເລີນກ້າວໜ້າ, ພົບພາແຕ່ສິ່ງດີໆ.

On the occasion of the Lao New Year 2026,

May my friends who love me see their work progress and experience only good things.

4.   ຂໍໃຫ້ຄວາມທຸກໂສກໄປກັບປີເກົ່າ, ແລ້ວຕ້ອນຮັບສິ່ງດີໆ ແລະ ຄວາມໂຊກດີເຂົ້າມາໃນປີໃໝ່ນີ້.
